JULY 1 - FREO TO COOLGARDIE

WHAT A LONG DAY.....

Our GPS gave us the tourist route out of Freo and Perth and we saw some scenery we hadn't seen before of Perth - I was happy but the driver not so....

The contrast of the landscape once again was amazing from beaches and tall Perth buildings to dry lakes, gum trees and low thick foliage with scatterings of wheat paddocks - huge farms and machinery - to arrive at Coolgardie after dark because we wanted to be in a park where I could watch the final of the House Rules.  Donna did take me to see Emma and Ben's home on Rome Road, Melville before we left - this was the front yard that got Carly and Leighton into the grand final and become eventual winners.

And so the road was long and straight and there it was again WATER PIPELINES.....

Freight trains, rail lines and heaps of interesting little towns with their own characters - at Merriden
we met the locals in the bottle shop who told us that Sunday trading in country Western Australia for bottle shops is not allowed - when we asked why that was we were told by a toothless fellow that it was because they had to go to Church!  Fact or Fiction?  We laughed - they wished us well and so on we travelled.

And here we are at Coolgardie - we've only been to the Caravan Park and it's
I N T E R E S T I N G.....

Today we are going to look around Kalgoorlie...Cheers till next time,
